Did you know 25% of Americans are afraid to fly? Imagine piloting a plane on your own. Or doing barrel rolls (technically called aerobatics). That’s exactly what Beth Stanton does!

Learning to fly turned out to be way more than I had bargained for. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I knew nothing about airplanes and how they worked. I despaired of ever landing the plane so that you could use it again.

It’s dawn in the desert and I’m staring straight down the departure end of Runway 30 at the Mojave Air and Space Port. I squint and see a surreal sight. Stratolaunch, the largest airplane ever built, hulks silently at the opposite end of the runway.

Lazer N230DW is a beloved airplane that has been built, flown and rebuilt by a close-knit group of friends. Here is the story of her 2016 ultimate makeover including new engine, fabric, carbon fiber, and gorgeous new red and black paint scheme.

People normally know Beth Stanton as a massage therapist and yoga instructor. But what they don’t know is that she flies aerobatics (precision stunt flying) competitively.
